Every penny that you donate goes to the care of our animals. Thousands of pets are abandoned by owners every year. These pets end up on roads where they get inaccidents or catch diseases. Many of these pets die from starvation, waiting for someone to show mercy. The pets that are found on roads are rescued by animal shelters, which are then put up for adoption.
Volunteer and Foster
If everything goes well, no barking, snapping, pulling, or other tense behavior; proceed with allowing the dogs to meet. We can facilitate a more correct greeting by encouraging them to walk circles with each other or even just slowly decreasing the distance while walking parallel. It can be VERY helpful to have another person present to simply observe the body language between the dogs, especially if either handler is unsure what to look for. There are several important steps to successfully and safely introduce a new dog into the household. First, it is important to take into consideration the personality of the dog already in the home.
Our Animal Resource Center, is located at:
South Charlotte Dog Rescue (SCDR) is a non-profit, no-kill, volunteer dog rescue organization serving the South Charlotte, NC area. SCDR has observed a great need in our community to rescue, foster, provide medical care and love for the unwanted, homeless, neglected and abused animals we so often see. We are an all-volunteer based 501c3 nonprofit animal rescue centrally located in the greater Charlotte NC area. Our dedicated volunteers are devoted to helping abandoned and abused cats and dogs find loving homes. Carolina P.A.W.S. volunteers can be found "in the trenches," rescuing animals at high risk - those starving on the streets, languishing in shelters, and suffering in abusive situations. Each animal has a different past but our promise to them all is the same…a second chance.
Become a Foster Parent
Or, if one dog becomes overbearing or ignores correction from the other. Then we can step in and calm the situation or remove the offender for a few moments. Otherwise just step back and give gentle verbal praise for appropriate and social play.
Many of our animals come from high-kill shelters and other rescue situations. We find that fostering gives us the opportunity to assess the animal's personality and needs. This allows us to best match them with the right adoptive family. Also, we are able to provide all care and medical needs for our animals. It enables the animal to develop a happy frame of mind before adoption. We have many wonderful animals looking for a forever home.

From doe-eyed and cuddly couch potatoes to floppy-eared hiking buds, the Humane Society of Charlotte has all sorts of doggies and cats waiting for their new homes. We do several events throughout the year to promote awareness to Black Dog Syndrome. The largest of these events is Paws in the Park, which annually draws thousands of attendees.
They come from many situations, stray, abandoned, owner surrender. Only when we believe they are ready will they become available for adoption. Our first priority is the welfare of the pup as they transition from shelter to their furever home. You and Me Furever is a nonprofit 501(c)3 foster based dog rescue located in Charlotte, NC.
To set both the shelter dog and the family dog up for success, we recommend doing a meet/greet outside of the shelter environment, on neutral ground. Thank you for your support as we all work together constructively to save more animal lives. Our mission is to champion the wellbeing of companion animals and strengthen their bond with the people who know, love, and need them.
We provide them with medical attention, rehabilitate them physically and emotionally, and care for them in foster homes until they can be placed in loving permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. A lot of our adoptable pets have no background history, and no notes based on behavior around dogs, cats, kids, or house training. However, a lot of our volunteers know a little more about our dogs based on the walks they provide, and our fosters have the most knowledge about the dogs in their care. If you need assistance with finding the best match for you, your family, and lifestyle fill out our adopter profile form.

Warren, chairman George McCaskey and Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson spoke Wednesday at Soldier Field about the importance of the Bears staying in the city and released images of what the new domed stadium will look like. The Bears’ ideal timeline, pending approval from the state legislature on public financing, is to break ground on the stadium in 2025 and open it for the 2028 season. If everything works out for the Bears to build their new domed stadium on the lakefront south of Soldier Field, they won’t need a temporary home venue.

Their plan recently hit a financial hitch, on account of their request for public funding. Amid the controversy, architect Dirk Lohan --- who was the responsible mind for the 2003 Soldier Field renovations --- shared his idea on LinkedIn for a redesign of the Bears' current stadium.

With another quick wave to pump up the crowd, he stunned the bees with spray and started sucking them up with a shop vac as Bonnie Tyler’s “Holding Out for a Hero” blared through the loudspeakers.
Secretary Alex Gough said the office "appreciates the opportunity to discuss the Bears’ proposal and appreciates the organization for taking the time to discuss it," but had a blunt message for the team going forward. The base has helped develop virtually every aircraft purchased by the Air Force since World War II. Almost every United States military aircraft since the 1950s has been at least partially tested at Edwards, and it has been the site of many aviation breakthroughs. Domino's will also deliver pizza to anywhere on base from its two locations inside the gates.
The Branch twice became the object of local controversy, fueled by newspaper coverage. In 1889, the Board of Managers conducted an investigation of the Pacific Branch after a number of charges, including poor treatment of members, bad food, and corrupt management, were leveled. The Board found little cause for concern, as their only action was to remind the governor of the Branch of his responsibilities. The Board of Managers were empowered to establish the Home at such locations as they deemed appropriate and to establish those programs that they determined necessary.

When you walk into the CLT USO the first thing you notice is that every inch of the walls is covered with mementos from visitors. “They're so proud to give us a challenge coin or a patch,” Milani said. Patches blanket the wall behind the front desk and display cases hold 3,000 challenge coins given to the USO by thankful military members.
But Coster said they've denied applicants they believed were exaggerating or faking their mess. Even though subjects have some advance notice of when they will be filmed, Coster said a vetting process lets the team find authentic examples. That's an argument that rings true for another subject, Jerome Peel, whose sparsely-decorated bedroom in Manhattan's Chinatown neighborhood attracted a number of detractors on TikTok. He even drew heat from the official Wendy's account.

Location being the only reason why we put up with this miserable attempt at "luxury". When they were doing the move-out inspection, they told me that I only need to pay for painting parts of the wall in the living room. And they asked me to sign a blank move-out inspection form. Several weeks later, I found out that they took $1500 out of my $5595 deposit!! They included the charge of replacing the floor in the apartment, in addition to painting the wall.

For all the things they can't do, I think making sure there's no odors or fire hazards around the residents should be something they are able to take care of. I'm a Newyorker and I can smell a gimmick a mile away. If you're trying to make it here in the city, believe me- Mercedes House is nothing but smoke and mirrors. We had invited friends for dinner in peak summer time and felt that our AC was not cooking enough, we were contemplating calling the handy man coz we dint want to be in the middle of AC change when the guests arrive.
I never really took noise into account because it's nyc, what can you expect... My old apartment was considerably better in regards to acoustics. You can hear everything from the elevator dinging (and I'm far away from it on my hall), to people floors above talking. Management, from my experience, hasn't been very effective in addressing this and more or less has proposed illogical resolutions to rearranging my furniture rather than choosing to address the concern from a community standpoint. This place does get rowdy and I question if management is on top of that, because noise complaints are round the clock here. The show uncovers all the strange idiosyncrasies of the ways some men inhabit their spaces, which Coster believes might be the fault of traditional social conditioning. "Girls are raised to take care of the house, generally. It's demanded of us or there's a shame around it," she said. "I don't feel like my guy friends were experiencing the same thing."

For a second, I was worried Elena would be naked in there taking an actual bath — but this isn’t an episode of Girls.
Damon Salvatore
When John Gilbert sees Anna lying in the building with the other vampires, he stakes her; her body is burned with the others. Damon sees this and later tells Jeremy how Anna died, regretting that he wasn't able to help. Jeremy questions whether it would be better to be a vampire and Damon admits it would be easier to turn the emotions off. Later, Jeremy drinks Anna's blood and takes all of Elena's sleeping pills.

Bonnie and Alaric subdue him and place him in another Prison World where he reveals to Bonnie that Katherine is the new Queen of Hell. Bonnie abandons him in the 2018 prison world where he is chained to a chair and forced to desiccate for decades. Anna developed romantic feelings for Jeremy, who suspects that she was not human and tests it by forcing her to drink his blood. Anna confronts Jeremy over this, and refuses his requests to turn him into a vampire. She initially attempts to hide her involvement with Jeremy from Pearl, and Anna and Pearl eventually get into a fight. Anna agrees to turn Jeremy but learns his motive is to get over his first love, Vicki.
Lexi Branson
When Jeremy tells Bonnie, she asks him to no longer talk to Anna and completely shut her out. In season three, Carol learns that Caroline Forbes is a vampire; after Caroline sleeps with Tyler in the Lockwood Mansion, Carol shoots her with vervain darts. Carol then calls Caroline's father, Bill Forbes, and tells him about her. The next day, Carol slips vervain in Tyler's coffee to test if he is a vampire, and is relieved that he isn't.
Sheila Bennett
In the midst of season two, she starts a relationship with Jeremy Gilbert, Elena's younger brother. She later discovers, from warlock Luka Martin, that the only way to kill Klaus, the original vampire who wants to kill Elena, is for her to get the power of one-hundred dead witches. Once she does this, she pretends to be dead in a scheme of Damon's to trick Klaus. But when she brings Klaus to the brink of death, Elijah does not kill him, as planned, and carries Klaus away before Bonnie could react. In season four, Silas manipulates Professor Atticus Shane who visited Silas' resting place while grieving for his lost wife. Through Shane, Silas sets the stage for his return, including setting up several massacres so that Silas can create an Expression Triangle and bring down the Veil between life and the Other Side.
Through flashbacks when Damon was killing people in New York as "Son of Sam", Stefan sent Lexi to help Damon. For about 6 months they hung out while Lexi would ask Damon about Katherine, trying to help him remember love. Matt believes that Stefan killed Penny, and he becomes hellbent on getting revenge on Stefan. By season eight, Enzo and Damon disappeared and Bonnie could not locate them, leaving her without two of the people she most cared about. Bonnie manages to rescue Damon and Enzo from Sybil's control using objects from the Armory, and resumes her relationship with Enzo.
Fantasy Shows You Should Watch If You Miss Once Upon a Time
Before leaving town, Isobel compels Alaric to get over her and tells him that she realizes it was a mistake to become a vampire. In the season five finale, Lexi is one of the friends that the Mystic Falls gang decides to resurrect before the Other Side collapses completely. However, before she can pass through Bonnie, Lexi realizes that the effort is killing her and she is unwilling to deprive Stefan of the chance to get his brother back, Damon having not yet returned. Vicki returns in season eight and appears in Damon's mind, when he has flashbacks of his attack upon her in the pilot episode. It is later revealed that Vicki managed to escape Hell alongside Katherine and her mother.
Season one
In season four, Matt blames himself for Elena's vampire transformation – Damon also blames him and wants Matt dead. Matt holds a grudge against Rebekah for trying to kill him and causing Elena's transition. Matt later moves into the Gilbert house when Elena moves out, due to Jeremy's urge to kill her. However, Elena moves back in, only for Jeremy to be killed soon after. He later develops a relationship with Rebekah Mikaelson and leaves Mystic Falls after graduation to travel with her.
After Kai absorbed the Travelers' spell around Mystic Falls, Jeremy regained his hunter abilities. Later, Jeremy came to the conclusion that it was time for him to move on with his life and leave for Santa Fe, New Mexico. Jeremy returns in the series finale, shown teaching gifted youngsters how to defend themselves against the supernatural at the Salvatore School. In the beginning of the series, Jeremy was emotionally damaged by the death of his parents and begins to use drugs. He was in love with Vicki Donovan, another drug user, causing a rivalry with her boyfriend, Tyler Lockwood. Vicki later breaks up with Tyler and starts a relationship with Jeremy.
After Jeremy Gilbert becomes one of the Brotherhood of the Five, he is able to complete his Hunter's Mark leading to Silas by killing Kol Mikaelson and thus all of the vampires in his bloodline. The group successfully finds Silas and the Cure to vampirism that he holds, but Katherine feeds Silas Jeremy's blood to fully revive him and Silas kills Jeremy. Taking on the form of Shane, who had actually died on the island, Silas manipulates Bonnie into doing his bidding by preying on her grief over the death of Jeremy.
However, this simply completes his transformation into an even stronger kind of vampire and Lucien knocks Matt out after his bullets have no more effect on him. Damon Salvatore (based on Damon Salvatore from the novels) is a vampire, turned by Katherine Pierce one hundred and forty-five years prior to the beginning of the main storyline. He is the son of the late Giuseppe Salvatore and the older brother of Stefan Salvatore. He is portrayed as a charming, handsome and snide person who loves tricking humans, and takes pleasure in feeding on them and killing them during the early episodes of the first season. In season five, Silas poses as Stefan for months, killing Mayor Rudy Hopkins and seeking the Cure so that he can die and be at Peace with Amara. After discovering the truth, the Mystic Falls gang work to stop him, joined by the first witch Qetsiyah who had managed to resurrect herself while the Veil was down so that she could stop Silas in person.
When Bonnie drops the veil to the Other Side, she is overpowered by Silas. Afterwards, Bonnie is determined to bring Jeremy back to life, despite Sheila's warning. She eventually brings the veil back up, leaving Jeremy (who she resurrected) as the only one who can see her. In the season two finale, Bonnie is able to save Jeremy from dying after she tells her dead ancestor Emily Bennett that she loves him. However, bringing Jeremy back from the dead allows him to see his dead ex-girlfriends. Bonnie later finds out that Jeremy kissed Anna when the doorway to the Other Side was temporarily opened, and she breaks up with him.
Simply put, make sure the architectural styles match inside and out. Dorling also said that when adding additional exterior lighting, don't overlook the importance of illuminating elements such as the stairs and house numbers. And, surprisingly, that's to paint the exterior of your home all the same color. There’s area already a few more to-do’s on my wish list to complete the exterior of our home. Given that we move in year increments I’m hoping that by this time next year all those additional projects will be complete.

These Are the 11 Colors Paint Companies Predict Will Rule Interiors in 2024.
The blue paint color works well with the cool-toned gray shingle roof, while the bright white adds contrast and highlights the home’s architectural details. To complete the exterior, a pop of yellow adds playful personality and an inviting touch. From the first glance, these neutral exterior paint colors pack a surprising punch. Passersby are first drawn to the stone accent wall that features varying shades of tan and brown.
Dark Blue + White + Pink
The My Paintcolors apps works on any web browser, it is easiest to use on a desktop computer, but works on mobile phones and tablets as well. There are a variety of pre-masked homes in common exterior styles to speed up the process if you want to save the time of masking your uploaded photo. “Whether it's the verdant greenery, the azure coastline, or the hues of neighboring houses, observe your surroundings and take note of the colors enveloping the home,” Yeo says. While one can’t go wrong with white, Kim suggests trying a creamy white with warmer undertones for a softer, more welcoming alternative to stark white. The color gave a name to Casa Amarela, a Portuguese colonial-style mansion in São Paulo renovated by Sig Bergamin for Vogue Brazil editor Donata Meirelles and media mogul Nizan Guanaes.
The Process of Painting the Exterior of Our House
"It's a warm, creamy off-white that transcends exterior design styles and can create a minimalistic aesthetic on its own or serve as a blank canvas for both warm or cool accents," McCollum says. If you want to add a splash of color to exterior doors, trim, and even a porch ceiling, Valspar's Renew Blue is a beautiful pick. It's a green-influenced blue that Kim describes as a nourishing tone that creates a sense of peace, especially for outdoor spaces. "This welcoming and peaceful shade uplifts intentional time spent in the backyard and elevates the everyday space," she says. Cool, sun-reflecting whites, like Decor White, should be embraced wherever the sun is strongest. When a house façade is “flat,” add depth to the walls with that same white contrasted against a nature-inspired Anjou Pear.
These homes are often painted with brown, cream and white tones that go well with brick, stone, concrete or slate accents. A darker accent color would work well with yellow for a Victorian home with lots of architectural flourishes to highlight. White might seem like a bland choice when compared to all the other exterior house paint ideas. It can used to brighten up the wood siding of a house or even as a brick paint for whitewashing.
Buy Paints and Stain
Be careful when choosing your exterior paint colors in the store because they may appear lighter on the home exterior than on the paint chip in the store because of the natural lighting. Pair black siding with white trim, which will highlight your home's architectural features and prevent the dark neutral from appearing too gloomy. Here, an aqua front door adds another element of brightness that contrasts with the inky siding and black metal roof. For bolder hues, primary shades (red, yellow, and blue) can work well, depending on the kind of home you’re painting. Craftsman homes, for instance, often feature primary colors, as well as secondary shades like green.
Make a Statement with White Exterior Paint
Instead, the natural wood, which will weather to a warm gray if left unstained, adds warmth to the gray-green paint. If your home is surrounded by a natural landscape, you can take one of two approaches to exterior paint color ideas. First, you can pick hues that will make the home recede into the background of trees and plants. Or you can choose a standout color that calls attention to the style of your space. This home does the latter; its seafoam green exterior wood paint selection contrasts the lush green backdrop of the tree canopy.
Here, the pattern on the brick section of the front facade is nearly mosaic-like. Functional features, such as drain pipes or front steps, can be a wonderful way to include different colors or materials. Update an old brick exterior with a fresh coat of white paint and create crisp contrast with a taupe-painted front door and window shutters. The warm gray adds depth without being as stark as black and pairs beautifully with midtone woods that add rustic charm to this ranch-style home.
Medium Gray + White
Paint any ornate details white to spotlight those special characteristics, as designer Maggie Cruz did for her Florida house. Allow your home to harmonize with the greenery that surrounds it by creating a jade and olive color scheme, as HGTV stars Ben and Erin Napier did for this Laurel, Mississippi, home. The siding is painted in Rookwood Jade and the porch flooring is in Renwick Olive, both by Sherwin-Williams, to reflect the natural landscape. Before partnering with The Home Depot on this project, Adam and I spent countless hours looking up potential paint colors for our home. Given that this was a pretty big decision to make (hello, we’re painting an entire house!), we were wanting to make sure we picked the best color for us and our home.
